Sabrina is a first-generation Canadian racialized Black woman of African Caribbean ancestry. She brings both personal and professional experience into the therapy space, creating an environment that embraces all of your intersectionalities. She has 19+ years of experience in social service settings both in direct care and management, supervising social workers. Over the years, Sabrina has supported vulnerable children and adults who have experienced trauma and who live with secondary post-traumatic stress symptoms and disorders. At her practice in Mississauga, Ontario, she works with adults (18+) who are experiencing anxiety, stress, critical work incident(s), life changes/transitions, career and relationship challenges, trauma, adjustment difficulties, chronic stress, racial harm and racial trauma, guilt, poor self-esteem, imposture syndrome, women’s health such as perimenopause/menopause mental health concerns, fibroids, endometriosis, and caregiver burden such as caring for a loved one living with dementia, or any life altering conditions. Sabrina uses an integrative approach that draws from evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (M-CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Strength-based, Narrative, Family & Eco-systems, Culturally Affirming, Faith-based perspectives and more. Rather than focusing solely on insight or verbal processing, through somatic practices, she invites the body’s implicit memories and responses into the therapeutic process. She also supports faith-based counselling for clients who wish to bring their faith or spirituality into therapy. Her goal is to create a warm, safe, and attuned environment where clients feel supported and understood as they work together toward healing, resilience, and growth. If you are looking for a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist who offers trauma-informed, whole-person, culturally affirming therapy, Sabrina would be honored to walk alongside you in your healing process. Reach out when you’re ready to experience real support. She is located quite centrally, in Meadowvale with proximity to Highway 401 and 407, and Meadowvale Go Station. Sessions are also offered online.
