Do you struggle with anxiety, relationship challenges, or overwhelming stress that impacts your emotional well-being and daily life? Do you feel exhausted, frustrated, or lost trying to navigate expectations, manage emotions, or simply get through the day? You’re not alone. Now more than ever, many individuals feel anxious, overwhelmed, and uncertain about their emotional health and personal direction. But these challenges don’t have to define your journey—there is hope for change. I believe healing is possible, and small acts of empathy can spark lasting transformation. Life doesn’t have to be this difficult. By focusing on your strengths and resilience, we can build emotional well-being and help you navigate life’s challenges with clarity and confidence. My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), offering evidence-based strategies to help you manage your thoughts and emotions while fostering acceptance and mindfulness. I create a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your unique needs and goals, supporting you in cultivating balance, resilience, and fulfillment. As a second-generation Caribbean-Canadian, my diverse cultural background is a cornerstone of my practice. Growing up surrounded by a vibrant blend of cultures has given me a deep appreciation for the nuances of cultural sensitivity and inclusivity. I welcome you to bring your true self into our sessions, where your heritage, identity, and lived experiences are honored and integrated into our work together. Therapy is a space for you to feel seen, heard, and understood. I start by listening to your story—understanding you as a whole person. Together, we develop personalized strategies to manage stress, strengthen relationships, and foster emotional well-being and personal growth. You don’t have to face this alone. Let’s take this step forward together.

I have been practicing therapy for about 15 years with a Masters Degree in Social Work. I have worked extensively with youth who have had conflict with the law, along with the challenges that their families face navigating the system and the complexity that it comes with. I have also coached individuals with ADHD, assisting them with tools to help them navigate where they feel challenged. I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults who have experienced challenging life circumstances. I work with individuals who have experienced trauma, individuals who have family members who experience mental illness, anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflict, grief, stress, abuse and domestic violence. I use a variety of approaches, catering each therapy session to the individual focusing on what their strengths and needs are. I love to equip clients with skills and tools to help them manage the challenges that life brings them with approaches such as DBT, CBT and EMDR. I love to use humor (of course when appropriate) and creativity, and enjoy laughing with my clients, as laughter can often be one of our best resources. I am dedicated to creating a safe space for clients where they feel like they can be themselves and discover more of who they are and who they want to be. I believe that as a woman of color I have moved through the world in a unique way and it has given me a remarkable perspective on life and the challenges that being someone of color experiences. My perspective gives me a passion to assist my clients find their voice, choice and their power. I am also a Christian and believe all are loved and important and I welcome working with all people. Upon request, I will incorporate Christian components into sessions such as prayer and bible reading. I will also give individuals a safe space to share their faith and the struggles that sometimes happen in the Christian walk. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling and exploring new cities and cultures. I love meeting new people, reading a good book and of course ice cream.

I believe that there is good in every person, and hope in every situation. I have helped hundreds of individuals, couples, and families heal, grow, and connect. As a relational therapist, I appreciate the impact that our relationships have on our well-being. I do not see clients as having something wrong with their minds that necessarily needs to be fixed. Rather, I see my clients as unique individuals, each with their own stories and perspectives, embedded in important relationships and contexts that impact them. I see strengths and I see hope, even when it feels like there is none. I provide a calm, non-judgmental, and supportive space for my clients to explore deeper emotions and gain insight. Further, by using a strength-based, solution-focused approach, I help my clients by collaboratively finding strategies to move forward, which is especially helpful when clients feel stuck with their mental health and relationships. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. You can email me or book a free phone consultation on my website. And if I’m not the right fit for you, I’d be happy to help you find your therapist!

Thank you so much for visiting my page. I am a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist, having received a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto. I ground my practice in social constructivism, and I draw from a diverse range of interventions, from Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) and psychodynamic orientations. I have received training and supervision and continue to pursue training in several CBT and psychodynamic orientated interventions and structured therapy models to treat trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I have worked with individuals from all walks of life who have endured various challenges and have had different expectations out of therapy. I have worked with people who needed some short-term support, long-term support and everything in between. When working with clients who have never been to therapy before, one of my goals in our work is to explore their understandings of therapy and therapists. Regardless of how long we work together, I feel it is important for me to impart on all clients their level of comfort with their therapist should always be a priority. Two principles also guide my work as a therapist. First, I see my clients as the expert of their life, and view my role within the therapy journey as levering my professional knowledge to your benefit. Second, recovery is rarely a linear process, and the unpredictable nature of life can influence it. I seek to normalize the complexity of life, encourage self-compassion, and affirm the glimmers of your strengths and resiliency that come up when talking about the past, and over the duration of our work. These principles are critical to the maintenance of a therapeutic alliance that is respectful of your intersecting identities, and safely invites you to make explicit any thoughts, emotions, and feelings that are critical to understanding how I can best be of help. I would be more than happy to discuss what you hope to get out of therapy. If you are interested in connecting further, please click below to book a free consultation with me.

As a Black queer social worker of Afro-Caribbean descent, I work using a strengths-based, and trauma-informed lens, with a deep commitment to anti-racist and anti-oppressive practice. Much of my experience has been working with BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ folks, particularly navigating racial, institutional and relational trauma. But I have also worked with many other communities. I believe that everyone has the ability to heal themselves, and I am passionate about supporting that journey. I mostly rely on emotion-focused, compassionate, somatic and mindfulness-based approaches. I am firmly rooted in abolitionist and liberation-based frameworks, and work from a place of deep love for my communities. I know that seeking support for our mental health is very vulnerable and can feel scary. So, I try my best to create both a safe and brave space where you can be yourself.
