I understand that vulnerability in therapy can be new and intimidating work for some of us. I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental and comforting environment for those from various backgrounds. My primary focus is centred on supporting students struggling with transitional periods, anxiety/depression and individuals who may struggle with intergenerational trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and emotional regulation.
In my experience, I have learned that it takes courage to seek therapy and self-compassion to show up for ourselves continuously.
Cultural competence is important in my practice and I understand the cultural nuances that influence radicalized people in our community.
I understand first-hand how depression and anxiety can seep into every part of our life and create layers of anger, shame and guilt. Both my background and life experiences help me effectively work alongside BIPOC and POC in our community. I am deeply committed to supporting clients through a strength-based approach with the client’s goals in mind.

I share a common human experience with the individuals I work with and I can appreciate each person’s journey. Maybe you are considering therapy to connect with someone non-judgmental and outside your personal support system; you are feeling uneasy or worrying about life’s situations; you are withdrawing from others and no longer find joy in things that brought you pleasure; substance use or a habitual behaviour is getting in the way of meaningful relationships and meeting life’s challenges; you experienced a major event in your life and you are feeling overwhelmed. We will endeavour to understand these challenges and I will support you in taking steps that would benefit you.
I use a variety of therapeutic styles – dialectical behavioural therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, internal family systems, emotion focused therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, harm-reduction, brief solution focused therapy and the triphasic model of trauma therapy. We will collaborate on a therapeutic plan and strategies to practice that would benefit you on your journey.
To learn more about my offerings to individuals, couples and families, please visit my webpage and connect with me by phone or email. You can book a free 15-minute consultation session and I’d be happy to support you in taking the next step on your journey.

My journey into psychotherapy is deeply rooted in my personal experiences and passion for helping others. At the tender age of six, I witnessed the horrors of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, an event that took my parents’ lives and the majority of my family members and left me and my siblings to navigate life amidst profound trauma and loss. Growing up in orphanages and foster homes, I faced challenges that far exceeded typical childhood experiences. Despite these adversities, I found hope, resilience, and purpose.
Migrating to Canada from Rwanda in 2010 marked a turning point in my life. My journey’s struggles and triumphs have shaped my commitment to mental health advocacy and my desire to support others through their own healing processes. I believe in the power of transformation and the human spirit’s ability to overcome even the most challenging circumstances.
Approach to Therapy:
As a therapist fluent in French and English, my therapy approach is trauma-informed and person-centered. I offer culturally sensitive therapy tailored to diverse clients, BIPOC, Afro-Black communities, and beyond.
Drawing from a rich background in Clinical Counselling, my therapy is tailored to individual needs. It blends psychoeducation on brain health with evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, MBCT, ITATM, and trauma-focused therapies. I offer a supportive space to explore life challenges and improve cognitive functioning.
I confidently utilize an integrative psychotherapy approach to support my clients, whether they desire to incorporate Christian faith into their therapy sessions or not. My expertise allows me to serve individuals with or without a faith-based focus, providing comprehensive care tailored to their specific needs.
I understand that your journey is unique. I look forward to journeying with you through life’s challenges with empathy and compassion.
Your story is unique, and I would be honored to journey with you.

I am a Jamaican living in Vancouver. As a recent immigrant, I am aware of how the process and experience of forging a new life can bring both satisfaction and distress especially in intimate relationships.
Life transitions can cause emotional stress and often, we need help to tap into our own inherent strengths. I work from an anti-oppression lens and am a firm believer in intersectionality as part of the human condition.
Sexuality and sexual behaviours can also be challenging for some but, I am passionate about working with individuals and couples of all genders, orientations, races and ethnicities. I also specialize in addictions which I view as a maladaptive coping skill for traumatic situations.
