Counselling where your whole story is understood.
Eligible Black-identifying Georgian College students can access confidential, culturally responsive support from Black or Black-affirming registered mental health professionals—at no personal cost.
What we can help with
You do not need to wait until things feel overwhelming. Students reach out for many different reasons.
Stress & emotions
Anxiety, low mood, loneliness, grief, overwhelm and major life changes.
School & balance
Academic pressure, motivation, focus and balancing competing responsibilities.
Identity & belonging
Racism, discrimination, racial trauma, self-esteem and finding community.
Relationships & growth
Family, friendship or relationship concerns, coping skills and personal growth.
Confidence & self-esteem
Self-doubt, imposter feelings, boundaries and building a stronger sense of self.
Trauma & healing
Past or recent trauma, difficult experiences and support for healing at your pace.
Support that sees you.
Our approach is culturally responsive, anti-oppressive and trauma-informed. Support may include an intake conversation, assessment and individual therapy for brief-to-moderate concerns. Sessions may be offered securely online and, when available, in person.
If another service would better meet your needs, we will help identify an appropriate referral pathway.
