Hi there! I’m so glad you’re here, and I hope you come to find that you are exactly where you need to be. I’m Sena, an avid traveller, foodie, friend and an active member of my cultural community! I am also a first-generation Canadian, who has undergone and therefore understands the complexity of navigating multiple identities and worlds— balancing cultural expectations, generational differences, and the silent struggles of seeking help when it’s not always encouraged. These experiences have shaped my passion for finding balance, clarity, and self-understanding in my own life—and now, for helping others do the same. Over time, I have found that healing often involves finding a sense of alignment: with ourselves, our values, and the parts of us that have been overlooked or silenced. All of this has made me kind but honest, gentle but direct, and most of all, committed to walking alongside you with openness, empathy, and deep respect for your story. I have had the honour of working in a range of settings with people of all ages, cultures, and needs. Combined with my own experience navigating cultural identity and the emotional weight of feeling ‘in between’ worlds, I have become passionate about supporting culturally diverse individuals—including newcomers and fellow first-generation Canadians—who are navigating identity, isolation, family expectations, and the emotional impact of change or trauma. I also have a deep interest in working with individuals from marginalized or underserved communities. Above all, I am committed to offering inclusive, non-judgemental care to anyone willing to engage in the therapeutic process, no matter where they are starting from. In terms of credentials, I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Criminology and am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. My professional background includes teaching middle school students, working in a youth custody, supporting adults in a residential rehabilitation centre, and counselling refugees. These diverse experiences have deepened my understanding of the many ways people navigate challenges, trauma, and change. My approach is grounded in trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and client-centred care. I draw from various modalities—such as Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based approaches, and Humanistic frameworks—but always tailor my work to your needs and goals. I offer in-person sessions at the Mississauga location, as well as secure virtual sessions. Taking the first step is hard—but you’re here and I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey toward greater clarity, alignment, and piece of mind!
