sasder nertyParticipantI want to remodel my basement into a living space, but I’m not sure where to start – planning, permits, contractors? The budget is not rubber, so I don’t want to make a mess. Maybe someone has gone through basement remodeling in Calgary – can you share your experience?

My brother was also looking for someone who does basement renovation in Calgary last year, he spent a lot of time comparing – finally he went to boreonbuilders.ca The guys there seem to be experienced, especially in basements, they do everything on a turnkey basis. You can just consult with them first to find out what’s best – they’re not intrusive, but they’ll tell you what’s best.

What about approvals and paperwork, do you know? I’ve just heard that Calgary is strict on that, especially if you’re remodeling a basement. I’m also wondering if they do insulated soundproofing between floors.
