Hi My Name is Denise Johnson and I became a therapist is response to the responsibility I felt to use my knowledge, skills and lived experience to help individuals on their journey to achieving wellness and wholeness. I am a registered Social Worker and hold a Master of Social Work degree, and a Bachelor of Social Work degree from York University, a community worker diploma from George Brown college and a Certificate in family Mediation from York University.
I work well with individuals living with anxiety, low mood, low motivation, and low self-esteem issues and have a passion for skill teaching for successfully navigating everyday life stressors and developing cognitive flexibility in responding to life’s challenges. I utilize various modalities including aspects of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Solution Focussed Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Trauma Informed Care.
