Do you struggle with anxiety, relationship challenges, or overwhelming stress that impacts your emotional well-being and daily life? Do you feel exhausted, frustrated, or lost trying to navigate expectations, manage emotions, or simply get through the day? You’re not alone. Now more than ever, many individuals feel anxious, overwhelmed, and uncertain about their emotional health and personal direction. But these challenges don’t have to define your journey—there is hope for change. I believe healing is possible, and small acts of empathy can spark lasting transformation. Life doesn’t have to be this difficult. By focusing on your strengths and resilience, we can build emotional well-being and help you navigate life’s challenges with clarity and confidence. My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), offering evidence-based strategies to help you manage your thoughts and emotions while fostering acceptance and mindfulness. I create a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your unique needs and goals, supporting you in cultivating balance, resilience, and fulfillment. As a second-generation Caribbean-Canadian, my diverse cultural background is a cornerstone of my practice. Growing up surrounded by a vibrant blend of cultures has given me a deep appreciation for the nuances of cultural sensitivity and inclusivity. I welcome you to bring your true self into our sessions, where your heritage, identity, and lived experiences are honored and integrated into our work together. Therapy is a space for you to feel seen, heard, and understood. I start by listening to your story—understanding you as a whole person. I am a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. With over a decade of experience as a law enforcement officer, I have developed extensive expertise in addressing trauma and grief. I have a passion for working with youth (12-18) and have experience providing court-mandated anger management and domestic violence programs. I also offer parent coaching to help guardians and caregivers navigate life with their youth(s). I completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) degree at Yorkville University in 2024. In 2011, I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree, minoring in psychology: brain and cognition, and political science. I understand the immense value of embarking on a mental health journey that focuses on self-care and resilience while balancing professional and personal demands. Using a strength-based approach, I mainly draw on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy to help those who may be dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, racial trauma, grief, low self-esteem, or general life stressors. I possess enhanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy, and first responder reintegration after traumatic incidents. What are you going through? Let’s work together in a safe, non-judgmental space to overcome challenges, meet your needs, and live authentically. You are enough.

The past few years have been challenging for everyone. Many have struggled with feelings of isolation, loss, and strained relationships, leading to a decline in our overall mental health. Taking the first step in seeking help and talking to someone unfamiliar can be difficult but can be beneficial toward improving your well-being. With 18 years of experience, I have developed extensive knowledge and skills in supporting individuals and families. I have worked in various capacities, including child protection, the education system, and private practice. Using evidence-based therapy techniques, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Informed Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills (DBT), and Narrative Therapy, I can assist you in managing your concerns and provide you with the tools needed to build a healthier and more balanced life. Together, we can work to improve the areas you may be experiencing challenges such as confidence, self-esteem, effectively resolving conflicts, establishing healthy boundaries, and developing effective coping strategies. As a member of the BIPOC community, I recognize the impact of systemic barriers on mental health and operate from a place of equity and anti-oppression. I am passionate about helping individuals on their journey to wellness and self-fulfillment.

I’m so glad you’re here and considering therapy as part of your journey toward healing and growth. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I’m here to support you every step of the way. I know it can feel overwhelming to reach out for help, especially when you’re not sure what to expect or where to start. It’s normal to feel uncertain, and it’s okay to take your time finding the right support. My goal is to create a space where you can feel comfortable, seen, and truly heard, without fear of judgment. My journey into psychotherapy is shaped by my lived experiences and a deep passion for helping others navigate their healing. As a first-generation immigrant with multiple intersecting identities, I understand the complexities of moving in spaces that weren’t designed for you. I’ve experienced the challenges of feeling unseen or misunderstood, and how isolating that can be. This personal understanding guides how I approach therapy, with openness, cultural awareness, and a commitment to truly hearing you. I believe in the power of growth and transformation, and I know that healing happens when we feel truly seen, respected, and supported. That’s why I’m committed to providing a space where you can explore your feelings and experiences without fear of judgment. I’m dedicated to creating an environment that is inclusive, culturally safe, and particularly supportive for Black, Racialized, and Queer communities. Together, we can work at your pace, honouring where you are in your journey. My approach to therapy is client-centred, anti-oppressive, culturally informed, and trauma-informed, all grounded in social justice principles. I believe that every person’s journey is unique, and I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities to tailor my approach to your individual needs. This includes techniques like Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), among others. Your journey is uniquely yours, and I’m here to offer the support and space you need to explore it. Together, we’ll work at your pace, honouring where you are and where you want to go. I look forward to being a part of your healing process. Ready to take the next step? I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can connect and see if we’re a good fit.

I believe relationships have an impact on every area of a person’s life. The most important being the relationship with yourself. Our complex society has made navigating relationships challenging to say the least. Simply put, we could all use some help from someone we can openly talk to without fear of judgement. Over the past 10 years in the social work field I have had the opportunity to work the front lines of the non-profit, education and government sectors. This has afforded me hands on case management, mental health, child welfare, research, counselling, mediation, and consultation experience. I practice from an anti-oppressive framework committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. I implement a solutions focused approach (drawing from other modalities as appropriate) to enable my clients to realize their strengths, thereby empowering them to take the necessary steps towards health, happiness and successful relationships. In addition to my work as a psychotherapist I also plan and host self help events in and around the GTA. I was also a youtube video influencer for a couple of years before starting RoP, primarily focusing on relationships.
