Charmaine Johnson is a Career & Mental Health Counsellor and founder of The Village Creative Healing Community which offers mental health support to the Black community (and their allies). Charmaine also works post secondary educations and has over 20 years' experience in supporting students and professionals achieve academic and career success while fostering overall wellness. Charmaine approaches healing from a holistic lens incorporating traditional, alternative and creative art therapy, while addressing the unique challenges faced by racialized individuals personally & professionally.Charmaine has a Masters in Counselling Psychology and a Double Hons BA in Sociology & Mass Communications where her focus was on race relations. Growing up in Canada and having the opportunity to live in Africa and the Caribbean, Charmaine brings a unique perspective to understanding and healing AfroCanadian individuals/Black Canadians.
