I am a native of Southwestern Ontario with Caribbean and European roots. I completed my Honours B.Sc. in Psychology at McMaster University in Hamilton. I then earned my M.A. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University in La Mirada, California. I have been a psychologist in private practice for over 15 years, tailoring my psychological services to each client with compassion and expertise (based on the presenting problems and mutually-derived goals). I provide both long- and short-term psychotherapy, as well as both psychological and psychoeducational assessments.
Through psychotherapy, I aim to help enhance your self-awareness, improve your mental health and well-being; help you resolve or mitigate problematic behaviours, thoughts, or emotions; help improve your relationships and social skills; and/or help you thrive in school, at work, or in various performance realms (including sports and the arts). For clients who so desire, I have graduate-level training and extensive clinical experience in helping clients integrate their faith into their psychological healing and growth.

Creating a space where clients feel safe, seen, and understood is at the heart of my work. As a Registered Psychotherapist and Founder of Rooted in Resilience Psychotherapy & Wellness, I provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centred therapy for individuals, couples, and families navigating life’s challenges.
I have experience supporting clients from diverse backgrounds who are struggling with trauma, complex trauma, racial trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, life transitions, burnout, and identity-related concerns. I also bring over a decade of experience working alongside survivors of sex trafficking and supporting individuals and families impacted by trauma and adversity.
My approach is integrative because I believe therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process. I draw from evidence-based modalities including EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Bowen Family Systems Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Prepare/Enrich for couples. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II), have completed Levels 1 and 2 EMDR training, trauma-informed CBT certification, and EFT Externship training.
I believe healing happens in the context of safety, connection, and curiosity. Whether we are processing difficult experiences, exploring long-standing patterns, strengthening relationships, or reconnecting with your sense of self, I will walk alongside you with compassion and authenticity. Your story is unique, and it would be an honour to support you as you move toward healing, growth, and resilience. I offer in-person sessions in Markham or virtual sessions across Ontario.

NOTE: Not currently accepting new clients. I work with Black and racialized clients who are discontent, distressed, or stuck as a result of molding themselves to fit expectations others have of them and struggle with being themselves in their relationships and other contexts they are a part of. I help you become more grounded and secure in who you are: your authentic selves and self-expression, so that you can cultivate relationships that honour these things with yourself and others.
As a Black woman and trained Couple and Family Therapist, I approach therapy relationally and systemically. This means that I pay attention to how your contexts (e.g. society, culture, relationships, etc.)-past, present, and even future- influence your experience in various aspects of your life, including your mental wellbeing and relationships.
I work with you to support you in moving from where you are now to where you want be; we examine what might be getting in the way of you reaching that place and how you can navigate these challenges in ways that honour your intersecting identities and values.
My approach is grounded in the values I hold around intersectionality and social justice, anti-oppressive and trauma informed practice, humour, and the therapeutic relationship.
I am trained in the following and intentionally integrate them in practice:
Dialogic Collaborative Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotion and Emotionally Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy.
